We mentioned in an earlier post, that PC Anwhere should be disable. Symantec now says they have patched PC Anywhere version 12.0, 12.1, and 12.5 after discovering source code had been stolen in 2006 recently. They made the patches available recently, so update immediately, or even better, quit using PC Anywhere.
DreamHost, a hosting provider we use for just a few of our customers, has suffered from a security breach. The breach apparently only affects ftp and shell access, and they have addressed this by changing these passwords. No email passwords or other account information was accessed, so your data is safe.
Although we don't know of any customers using McAfee, just thought others may be interested to know that according to this report over at c|net, there appears to be a vulnerability that allows bad guys to use computers using McAfee's SaaS Endpoint Protection as open proxies for sending spam. Not good.
