Computer Automatically Powers On?

Changing the BIOS battery resets the BIOS and all the settings, so check the BIOS setup for Wake on Lan(WOL) or Wake on Ring(WOR) options and make sure they are turned off.

There is also an option that turns the computer on in case of a power outage, check the BIOS and make sure it is set to stay off if the power goes out. If you are having power problems you should get yourself an Uninteruptible Power Supply (UPS). A UPS is a special power strip that also contains a battery to keep your computer on, for a limited time, in case something happens to the power (brown-outs, surges, and complete failures).

if it seems to be coming on at the same time, every time, it's possible that the computer is set to power on at a particular schedule. The BIOS of some of the newer computers have an Automatic Power Up setting in the BIOS. Make sure that is turned off.

If you happen to be putting your computer in Hibernation and not doing a full and complete shutdown, it is possible that Windows itself is turning on the computer to run a scheduled task. Check to see if you have any scheduled tasks that is waking up your computer by clicking on the Start Button , then Programs or All Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools, and finally Scheduled Tasks.

If you're still having problems, please give us a call @ 479-478-3032 when you're at your computer so we can ask some questions about the computer and get some better answers on who made the computer and stuff like that.
