Recent changes to our security practices has made us change what email servers you may use. The security updates will allow us to help protect your security and identity as well as lessen any impact on our customers and users should we need to make any changes in the future with your domain on our servers.

Email Setup for all users, including Cox Internet Home and Business Users

POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com
User Name: yourname@yourdomain.com

Other Settings: Be sure to check "My outgoing server requires authentication". In Outlook Express, it is under the Servers tab in the account properties. In Outlook, it is under "More Settings", and then Outgoing Server tab. Note that this is not the same thing as Secure Password Authentication - do not check this box.

Also, under the outgoing mail (smtp) port needs to be changed to 587. In Outlook Express and Outlook, click the Advanced Tab under the email account's properties, and change "outgoing mail (SMTP)" from 25 to 587.

Web-Based Email Access

To access your email from any browser You will need to know what data center your web site is housed in. We currently use three data centers in the U.S. The Denver datacenter uses http://mail.yourdomain.com as the webmail address. The Los Angeles data center uses http://webmail.yourdomain.com. Our data center in Dallas is slightly different in that the address is http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail. in all cases you will need to use your full email address as your user name and know your password.
