SEO and Internet Marketing

At Kirkham Systems, we perform Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services for some of our customers. SEO is an art. To be sure, there are some very important nuts and bolts and technical things that must be done for a web site to effectively be found by the search engine algorithms, but ultimately, it is an art form. Once the nuts and bolts have been put in place, once the architecture has been built, it then becomes an excercise in participating.

Participating means contributing, engaging, and having dialogues with site visitors and providing useful information. If the information is valuable to enough people, your web site develops "Web Cred". If your site has Web Cred, it rules.

What are you doing to get Web Cred? Describing your products and services is not enough. After all, your competition does the same thing with their site. Are you engaging your visitors? Are you allowing comments to your posts or directly soliciting feedback that can be posted without being moderated? How about providing free, VALUABLE information or downloads without regard for direct financial gain? Think "loss-leader" and give it away. It WILL drive traffic to your site.
