Computer Repair
Computer problems generally can be traced back to one of two sources, hardware or software. At Kirkham Systems we will identify and repair problems, or if it is not cost effective to repair, we will recommend a replacement computer and help you transfer your old data to the new computer for you.
Hardware
Hardware is the electrical and mechanical components that make up your computer. Hardware problems can sometimes be fixed by plugging in a cable that came loose, but often it requires the replacing or repairing of key components such as the hard drive, motherboard, processor, CD ROM drive, memory, or even a keyboard or mouse. We will test a broken computer to identify which components are causing the problems, and if it is costly we will show you other solutions, such as buying another computer and having your data converted to the new one. Even brand new computers can have problems. We can check your warranty to see if damaged parts are covered, if so we can order the parts and have them replaced.

Software
Software is usually what is causing your computer to malfunction. Software is all the programs and information you have stored on your computer. Software can be damaged by viruses or spyware, or can sometimes be incompatible with the actual hardware of a computer. Other software problems come from things such as failing to install software completely, software conflicting with another piece of software, not completely removing a piece of software, or program files being deleted accidentally. These problems are often easy to fix, however sometimes it takes a long time to identify the problem.
